Found the steam version and played through it there.
Blackout Hospital is a very enjoyable game for the most part. The RPG combat is fairly cookie cutter but given that the main focus is the narrative, setting and overall aesthetics it's something quite easy to overlook.
The cast of characters are varied and interesting, though a few side characters feel one dimensional and could have been fleshed out more. I'm aware some of them show up in other games made by ArcadeKitten but I've yet to properly play them and as such could be missing out on important info which may be part of why they feel this way.
Regardless I really enjoyed my time with the game and felt that it's length and pacing was very well done.
What a wonderful game Arcade! I really enjoyed it especially with you in the chat! From the story twists to character designs it was all top notch! To anyone reading this definitely check out the game yourself, but if you wanna see my playthrough here's the full game with all endings playlist! - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkxcnewj9xpUPcowu4E9jf3M5RmxFdeId
English is not my language. I hope this is still understandable.
I haven't played RPGs for long so I'm not very Knowledgeable. I loved the game and played it for a few hours but the next day i no longer had any saves. I had arrived at cerberooze after losing, i saved, closed the game and turned off the computer. I'm sorry for the long message, I'm not even sure if this is where i should ask.
Did you unzip the game? I had the exact same problem as you, and it turns out I was playing the game zipped, hence why the save files couldn't be properly created and stored in the game folder. If not, the directory could also be in a "protected" folder, where new files cannot be created. You should read this ask, as Arcade goes over some more reasons this could be happening.

So nice to see characters from the old games come back, in an improved artstyle compared to before. And that this one is longer.
I recently finished the game with the true ending. The true ending is not something I expected to be so touching. And I like the secret ending.
There should be instructions on the Steam page for the artbook !!
